Government minister defends decision to put Portugal on amber travel list

Government minister Robert Jenrick has defended the decision to put Portugal on the amber travel list.

The move from green to amber means UK tourists should not visit the country and returnees must isolate for 10 days.

Mr Jenrick said: “We do need to adopt a cautious approach to protect the UK from infection from new variants.”
